Description

x-PRESS is high performance, feature-rich, cross-platform compression software. It uses a dynamic, two-dimensional compression algorithm to prepare structured records or files for transfer and archival. Output compression ratios range from 60 to 94%, depending on the data type being compressed and the specific application.

x-PRESS is available for MVS, VSE, BS200, VMS, OpenVMS, DPPX/370, Stratus/FTX, Tandem, AIX, HP-UX, Digital UNIX, SINIX, SCO, Solaris, MS-DOS, OS/2 and Windows 95/NT.

Licensing and Support

x-PRESS license fees are assessed only once for perpetual use, and reflect the platform configuration or combination where the product resides. As with COSORT, x-PRESS's performance is hardware-dependent, but its model-specific license fees are lower. Annual maintenance charges for x-PRESS are 15% of the base license fee for the total licensed configuration. A minimum annual charge may apply.
